Hello again everyone,
This summer has been so much fun that it flew right by. I can’t believe it is September already. Kids getting ready to go back to school and temperatures are starting to cool down at night, I see a few leaves starting to turn. It is that time of year when it will start to slow down a little bit around here. The upper pool closes for the season on Labor Day, the lower pool will remain open until mid-September depending on the weather.
We had 3 team members receive awards this month. Please join us in congratulating them for their time of service! Renee Powis received a 10-year award, she started when she was 14 years old doing filing in the office and then worked her way up to answering phones. In 2014 she was promoted to Hopaway Holiday and did the condo travel for TRA. In 2022 she left that to pursue something new but decided to stay on and help us part-time in activities. Marie Smith received a 5-year award, she has worked in our store for the last 5 years and is moving to Georgia in the fall so is planning to stay with TRA and work at North Shore Landing. We wish her all the best. Eugene Rowand received a 5-year award, he has been here in our grounds department and does many odd jobs for us such as weed killing, boat maintenance, garbage and recyclables, and rebuilding picnic tables. We are blessed to have such a loyal team.
In August, we had Princess & Pirate weekend with a tea party and pirate games. Next was Western Weekend, Redneck Weekend, and Casino Weekend with our annual Turning Stone Casino trip. They were all a lot of fun. Coming up in September we will start with International Potluck Weekend on the 6th-8th, everyone bring your favorite dish to share and we will have lunch together and meet some new friends. September 13th-15th is Sports Weekend, wear your favorite Sports shirt or Jersey and join us for some games. Then the 20th-22nd is Malt Shop Oldies weekend, we will have a drive-in movie and sock hop. September will end with Mystery & Magic. Then we will end the season with a bang in October. The 4th-6th is Fall Festival Weekend, we will have our annual Fall Carnival and Craft & Vendor Show a glow party, and more. The last weekend of the year will be October 11th-13th our Halloween Weekend, with our adult costume party, trick or treating, costume contest, pumpkin painting, and a hayride.
We do hope you all will join us for this beautiful time of year with all the fall favorites, apples, pumpkin spice, and campfires.
