Bass Lake Resort September 2021 Update

Hello Bass Lake Campers!!!

Goodbye to August and HELLO September!!!

This past month has been great here at Bass Lake with projects going on left and right. Surely bustling, we are dealing with the Wooded Campground Section requested electric peds and wiring to supplant the electrical in the lower half to give 30-amp administration to an additional 5 Sites to presently just have 20 amp on them. Our goal is to have this accomplished before Labor Day. We have also ordered all the supplies for the second well to be hooked up. Our plan is to get that completed before the end of November.

The first and second week of August was extremely hot, and everyone pretty much tried to stay cool.  The pools were full, all A/C’s were running full open.  August 12th, we enjoyed a cool front and returned to normal beautiful NY weather.  Lows in the 60’s at night and fool highs in the 70’s.  The NY State Fair started on August 19th.  Our Landscaper, Katy Dean, was busy watering all our pretty flowers and newly planted member build garden.

We hosted our pets and pals’ weekend on August 6th/7th and had a pet show.  I will Survive Weekend on August 13th/14th was quiet, but guest, Dan Dalin, who is an Eagle Scout Master, did a 1-hour presentation on how to survive in nature. About 20 people attended and everyone said it was very interesting.   August 21st is our Western Weekend, and we’ll have plenty of cowboy related activities, and we’ll send pictures when we have them.

We soon will be posting pictures of our scheduled Fundraiser from our “under the Big top” weekend on August 28th. We hosted an adult horse derby and a family horse derby, along with several carnival type games for the kids, to raise donations for our Sunshine Horses charity. We this, along with a very popular casino trip to the Turning Stone Casino.

We’re looking forward to September because we know cooler weather is on the way.  We have 2 bands planned for Labor Day weekend, Mood Swing and Thunder Canyon.  Then all our focus for the rest of September is on building the Halloween Event.  We are planning hayrides through our resort to see the Halloween decorations and members have already signed up to help facilitate the trail.  We are also planning a corn maze this year to change things up a bit from previous years.  September 10th & 11th we celebrate Apple Fest, then on September 17th and 18th, we will highlight our Civil War with some history, and on September 24th & 25th we’re going to have a great Tailgate party.

P.S.

I would like to ask any of our members that were here for our member build weekend on July 31st, to please contact Lizette with any pictures they may have taken. The pictures that were taken on Lizette’s phone were corrupted and lost. Appreciate any pictures that have been taken. I would like to post before and after pictures.

Please note: There are some new guidelines concerning pets for the 2021 season.  On Camp Sites Manufactured Portable Pet Fences are allowed, however, the size can be no larger than 200 square feet. Effective May 1, 2021 the Pet Fee for a Pet-Friendly Cabin will be $20 per day. Just a reminder that there is a maximum of two pets allowed in the pet-friendly cabin.
