April Showers bring May flowers and mud season here at Gettysburg! Welcome to Gettysburg in the Spring. Things are still moving forward and upward. The rains are bringing the flowers out, and so is Sister Sam our grounds guru. She is trimming, planting, mulching, and weeding and weeding, and weeding. A never-ending fight against the weeds but so far, she is winning at this sometimes-thankless task.
Bill and the boys of maintenance are busy upgrading and revamping the sites at the pond. Turning many of them to 50 amp and re-designing the sites to be easier to get into (driver-side back in) and in many cases longer in length. They have been busy with new water lines, running new electric wires, and setting new hydrants and pedestals. New gravel, new topsoil, grass seed, and straw scattered everywhere to give the grass time to take hold.
On one hand, we are grateful for the rain to help the new growth, but on the other, we pray daily for Mother Nature to be kind and let us dry out. The sites look amazing but until the ground dries out and the grass grows it is just a muddy mess. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
