Oh, how heavenly is June on the GBR campground! The sun is finally shining, and the perfume of freshly mowed grass lingers in the air! Our amazing Landscaping team took on a huge project this past winter and essentially created a greenhouse. Now everywhere you look are the fruits and flowers of their labor. Friendly pollinators are busy, as well as baby squirrels and fledglings are beginning to leave their nests. It is still early enough to be serenaded by peepers while enjoying a warm campfire in the cool evening breeze. Sunsets in June at Gettysburg are a sight to behold – the crimson and gold underlined by the green fields among lacy shadows of trees. It’s not just the flora and fauna coming to life, the entire campground has too. When the weather permits, the community firepit has become a popular gathering site for socializing. Golf carts flit around the campground, as members meet up with friends old and new.

Activities are in full bloom, with kids’ games on Wacky Wednesdays for tweens, Teen Night on Thursday, as well as plenty of adult crafts, games and wonderful bands almost every Saturday night. In June we will be having our first Pop Star Weekend, followed by our Father’s Day Weekend with our annual fishing tournament, then our highly successful Pirates and Mermaids Weekend, and finally our first Hogwarts Weekend!  We can’t wait to see you all! FYI – We have only one spot open for our new extended stay program. If you are interested in staying with us from now until November 1^st, please contact the store as soon as possible!
