We must agree! May is not only the gateway to summer; it is also the gateway to the official start of the camping season here in Gettysburg! The rainy April days have yielded to the refreshing cool mornings and warm, sunny afternoons of May. May evenings are still just cool enough to enjoy the comforting glow of a campfire and listen to the sweet chorus of Spring peepers. Trees dance in the breeze, gladly showing off their new gowns of pink, white, and a hundred shades of green. Big fluffy clouds float down the lazy blue river of the sky, contrasting with the field of gold across the street. The campground is noticeably busier, especially on the weekends, the playground buzzes with activity, and the Pavilion comes alive with music on Saturday nights! The highly anticipated tent sites, with their shade, electric,ity and a water station, are close to being ready for those members who enjoy traditional camping, and the Eisenhower cabin is set to go for activities, teen club, and our returning concierge service. In addition, our monthly craft and yard sale continues to be held on the 4^th Saturday of every month. We kick off May with our 3^rd annual Amazing Race on May 3-5th and then Mother’s Day Weekend May 10-12th, then our WW II Weekend May 17^th-19th, Memorial Day Weekend May 24^th -27th, and finally our 1^st Jurassic Park Weekend on May 31-June 2nd! In June we will be having our first Pop Star Weekend, followed by our Father’s Day Weekend with our annual fishing tournament, then our highly successful Pirates and Mermaids Weekend, and finally our first Hogwarts Weekend!  FYI – We only have a couple of sites left for our new extended-stay program (they went fast!).
